The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises, the latest movie in the Batman series with Christian Bale. This movie proves especially difficult for Bruce Wayne. He gets his heart broken by Rachel Dawes who was murdered in the last movie, his bank is broken by a skilled thief, Selina Kyle, then his back is broken and he is thrown in a prison if the middle of nowhere. And last but not least he is stabbed by this movies love interest. This movie proves difficult for Batman as he struggles to be stronger and fear death. In this movie Ms. Kyle soon begins to work with Batman but not before turning him over to this movies bad guy, Bane.
Bruce returns, from what everyone thought was the dead, and finds Gotham in complete lockdown. Bane has taken over the city and is taunting the city-folk with a nuke that drives around the city in an armored car. Bane instills hope and fear in the people when he tells them that a citizen holds the trigger and will blow it whenever they feel. During his alliance with Ms. Kyle, also known as catwoman, there is a point when Ms. Kyle disappears off the rooftop the same way that Batman has in both movies before. When this happened he states: “So that’s what that feels like.”
This simple statement is one that can be, when taken out of context, applied to our lives. Bullying. It’s a big thing in the world today. When a bully makes the decision to bully someone what difference would it make if he stopped and thought: how would I like being treated this way? I know that the chances are unlikely that anyone who is a full time bully would stop and think about it but maybe we could make just a small difference. Even when just kidding with friend’s maybe we could stop and think. What would that feel like? Even when you’re just joking the idea is still the same.
The golden rule is a great way to think about it. When we only do unto others as you would do unto yourself the world would be a better place. In an extreme example you could relate it to gangs. O guarantee you that a gang member would never want to have the same things happen to them that they have done to others. Although that is an extreme example it can help get the point out.
Our society can always use better people in the world. Better people in the world will lead to more unity and a loser death rate. Not to get all hippy like on you but honestly if we think about the affect we have on others it can change the way the world functions.
In closing just remember that what you say to people can have a bigger impact on them than you seem to think.

The golden rule is a very simple thing to do and it has a very powerful impact. I think that you are right. If people were to always keep the thought of it in there mind when they are doing bad things, they would be less likely to do those things. That was a very good movie and the others before it were also good. I would bet that you could get a lot of things to write about on your blog out of that. I think your idea to write about movies and lessons you could learn from them is a good idea. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt's that statement exactly why we should treat others better than ourselves. It's often a shameful feeling when you realize just how it feels when others treat you how you treat them. More often than I like to admit do I have to experience that. But that statement alone will lead many to becoming better people, and if that's what it takes to make the better place, then so be it I suppose. Maybe one day people can put themselves aside for the sake of others without having to be taught to do so. On a side note, I freaking loved this movie.
